Ministry: Russia’s wheat exports at 6 mln tns in Jul 1–Aug 27

MOSCOW, Sep 3 (PRIME) -- Russia has exported 6 million tonnes of wheat since the start of the current agricultural year on July 1 through August 27, the Agriculture Ministry said on Thursday citing the Federal Customs Service.

Total grain exports stood at 7 million tonnes in the period. Barley exports amounted to 1.1 million tonnes, and corn exports were at 0.2 million tonnes.

In the 2019–2020 agricultural year, grain exports amounted to 8.7 million tonnes on July 1–August 29.

Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said earlier that Russia exported 41.7 million tonnes of grain, including 33.2 million tonnes of wheat, in the 2019–2020 agricultural year, while the figures are preliminary and will be revised later.

In the 2020–2021 agricultural year, Russia’s grain exports are projected at 45 million tonnes, including 35 million tonnes of wheat.
